Why do Basant kite prices rise so fast?

A short sales window, limited stock from registered makers and festival-week demand push prices up in the final days.

In 2026, shops at Mochi Gate ran short of stock within days, and newspapers reported that many sellers held stock back because of inspections and the risk of penalties. Premium pinna that buyers remembered at lower prices sold for Rs 15,000 for a 4-piece set by the end of the week. Buying early, from a registered seller, is the simplest way to avoid the spike.

Where do these prices come from?

Each row is a price reported by a Lahore newspaper or observed at a named market, with its source and date.
